Among the environmentally friendly initiatives Ernst & Young has implemented:
Reducing consumption: Incorporating Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria into our standards for new construction and build-outs and using eco-efficient office equipment, including duplex printers and copiers.
Reusing: reusing office supplies (78% of our locations) and office equipment when we move from one location to another.
Recycling: recycling paper in approximately 90% of our U.S. offices and recycling toner cartridges in 81%.
Buying recycled: using more recycled-content materials, such as 30%-recycled-content copy paper in 90% of our US offices and remanufactured toner cartridges in 82%.
Building awareness: extending recycling from our offices to off-site, firm-sponsored meetings and events and incorporating environmentally friendly practices at our events.
